Waves of honor, the story of one of the most unusual naval engagements of the Civil War, fought just outside the harbor of Cherbourg France. The story of black men in the Navy when blacks were treated equal in the American Navy. In fact a black man on the Union ship in this battle Joachim Pease, won the Medal of Honor for his part in this action. The story of two captains, the captain of the C.S.S. Alabama Captain Semmes, determined to prove his merchant raider a true warship. Captain Winslow of America's first battleship, the U.S.S. Kearsarge, determined to sink the rebel raider. A story of lost and found love between Captain Winslow and his home port love, stranded in France after her ship is sunk by the rebel raider America. A battle,, more of a duel, fought just outside Cherbourg harbor as fifteen thousand Frence watched from the heights of Cherbourg in the summer of 1864.
